Vic: Ecstasy tablets seized

Customs officers and federal police have arrested a man who was allegedly trying to
smuggle about 10,000 ecstasy tablets into Australia.

Customs Minister AMANDA VANSTONE says the man, who is an Australian citizen, was arrested
at Melbourne airport early today after arriving on a flight from London.

It's alleged the tablets weigh 2.6 kilograms and were strapped to the man's body.

The man is expected to appear in Melbourne Magistrate's Court later today charged with
importing and possessing a prohibited import.
