Fed: Medical indemnity woes may hit travelling sports teams
CANBERRA, Feb 3 AAP - Australia's Olympic team and Prime Minister John Howard could
be forced to travel overseas without doctors due to insurance problems.
Doctors who accompany sporting teams overseas today warned they would not be able to
get insurance cover under new medical indemnity arrangements which came into force at
the beginning of the year.
Warren McDonald, team doctor to Canberra's Super 12 rugby union team the Brumbies,
said he had received legal advice not to travel overseas with the team.
