Qld: Voters get election letter

Voters in at least two Queensland seats have received letters in the mail confirming
that a state election is to be held next month.

The letters appear to pre-empt Mr BEATTIE'S move this morning .. to seek the Governor's
approval for an early poll.

DAWN .. a voter in the Sunshine Coast seat of Kawana .. has told ABC radio she's received
a letter from Mr BEATTIE saying he's called a general Queensland state election for the
upcoming month.

Speculation is rife Mr BEATTIE will call an election on September 9 .. six months before
it's due.
