NSW: Hospital says cancer cluster report not finished

Management at Sydney's Concord Hospital says it's finalising a report into a possible
cancer cluster .. after being accused of holding back the finished investigation to maximise
publicity.

At least 17 women .. who worked in one area of the hospital have been diagnosed with
breast cancer within a six-year period .. sparking an investigation in July.

The Seven Network .. quoting nurses' union sources .. has said the investigation has
finished and concludes there's no cancer cluster.

But the Sydney South West Area Health Service says the report has not been finished
.. but is being finalised now and an announcement is due by year's end.

Opposition health spokeswoman JILLIAN SKINNER says she's disgusted to learn Health
Minister REBA MEAGHER would sit on such a report.
