ING executive imprisoned in fraud case.

MEXICO CITY, Sep 19, 2002 (El Universal/Corporate Mexico by Internet Securities, Inc. via COMTEX) -- A penal court judge has declared the legal director of ING Comercial America, Gerardo Trigueros, to be formally imprisoned on accusations that he committed fraud for more than US$84 million against Grupo Fertinal. Trigueros is the third ING executive imprisoned in the case and another six are fugitives.Fertinal sued the ING Comerical America executives for non-payment of a US$84 million insurance policy covering a mine in Baja California Sur that was damaged by hurricane Juliette in September, 2001. The order for their arrest states that "Comerica America ING told Fertinal that it had received the money from the reinsurance firms, retaining the funds for their personal use, which is a fraudulent act."The other executives currently being held in connection with the case are Antonio Garcia Koniniezni, director of administration and accounting, and Salvador Medina Espinal, deputy director of damages at the firm.
